Double 4

If Blue can escape the back checker, he has an excellent anti-holding game. That's Blue's most pressing need. So play 24/16. With that, 10/2* minimizes return hits and hopes to force the 23 point checker to advance (a mixed blessing) but puts a checker out of play. There's also 13/9(2), making a 5 prime which is nice but really necessary, and leaves 3 outfield blots. There's also 13/9 10/6, holding return hits to a maximum of 20 (if indeed they all should hit), and 13/5, giving a couple more potential return hits but keeping the 16 and 10 point checkers connected. I like 13/5 the best of these three plays. I can't see coming up only to the 20 point. If White's going to hit, let him hit from his midpoint or his anchor, and not with the spares on his 3-prime. As nice as a 5-prime might be, there are no plays that can make one without leaving the back checker on the 20 or 24 point. Since Blue has a fine game with his 4-prime, coming out seems more important.
