Thanks, Dmitriy, for posting the interesting position and the rollout result.

Assuming the rollout result is accurate (@ beats $ by .0005), then I would usually anchor if ahead in a match and usually slot if behind in a match.

Taking the opponent factor into consideration, if you are stronger than your opponent (and all backgammon players are much better than at least 90% of their opponents), then you should slot.

Incidentally, if you roll 53 instead of 21, how should it be played?
