There are other reasons you could be playing better against XG. To Timothy's original question though, he asked "With more time, do you play better?" I don't think anyone is recommending you keep whatever pace your opponent sets. We want to know if you play better with more time than the standard ABT clock settings. I doubt you have the data for that but that's the real question for me.

Also, you're playing against XG. XG doesn't give you the same type of decisions as humans do. It's more likely to end up in standard positions, it cubes on time and closes in efficiently on cubes. This could easily be part of the reason it appears you're playing better against the bot.
