Part of the problem is that all doubles aren't working doubles, especially next turn if we're missed then we have to worry about cleaning up that blot so a roll like 22 isn't as good as it would be, 55 still leaves us something to clear, and 66 still leaves an immediate shot. It's a lot more shots but since we gain virtually zero timing by waiting it should be right to pay now when there's a blot instead of in 2 turns when there isn't.
