In analogy to Nimzowitchs theory to protect strong points to occupy them, i personally regard the unmade barpoint as strong point which is protected, and sometimes overprotected. It is sometimes then less or more dangerous to split in the unmade, protected point. If Black here can hit, bringing a man a tempo to this point there is in my opinion more value, when the resulting position starts a strong block.
So i would assume, that the 5 point makes it more dangerous. So i would here stay and try for counterplay, making my own bar. Then my 5 and 4 point are gaining value as protected points. Also against the four point i would make my bar point.
For the made three point, there is a defekt, because of the hole. If we split here to the bar and we are hit, then there is a greater chance, to make an ancher in the hole, therefore taking two men out of play in the blocking game. Here, i would play 24/18 10/9.
And in analogy to the second role, where it is almost correct to make the barpoint, i think we need good reasons here to deviate.
