Interesting Trio: 43D-31P-61, 43D-42P-61, 43D-53P-61

I approach positions like this by asking myself, "What kind of game do I want to play?". After 31P, black has an edge in a priming game. Therefore, I will get the back checkers moving with 24-18, 10-9 (nactation S? or would B be more descriptive?) hoping to create something other than prime vs prime. Facing a 53P response, I like my chances in a battle of primes and would play 61P (13-7, 8-7). 42P is undoubtably in the middle. I would lean towards 61P.
This theme occurs frequently. I often see something played like 42P-32D (Down 13-10, 13-11). It hurts my eyes. I want to say, "Why are you trying to play a priming game when that's clearly favorable to me?"
