OTB I would have played 13/8 24/23 on automatic pilot, then I wondered whether 24/18 might be better, and I reasoned 'no' because I want to unload the midpoint, and then I thought let's start with 13/8 and think about the ace. 24/23 moves the back checker to a place that is bad for a single back checker, whereas 8/7 slots a good point and hits have less value because they give up the anchor. In sum, 13/7.
