It is difficult OtB, sure.At first sight, checking this problem at work, i wrote: "If White is not hit, he will win a gammon and the match. So, even as an underdog, why not double out the gammons, making the own wins a match win? That is here the question. A second question is, when we are not doubling yet, is there a possibility, to miss a double in? The takepoint for White is 32%. My estimation is: if you hit a checker, White has a take(and not a monster take anymore, hard to evaluate OtB at a high takpoint), but most players would drop. So for practical purposes, i would doubling on the come. With a double, you will sacrifie your chances from 1aC-2aC. But I think, the wrong passes after a hit will outweigh this. Btw, the dead checker on five is a feature. If you can put him in the outfield, up goes the equity, and doubling on the come is even more a must, also against an experienced player."

You have to know, that blue can loose his market,if he hits on the 2 point. I think with this knowledge it is an optional double.
