In Response To: Opening Roll Sequence (Max Levenstein)

This position reminds me of 54S-63, discussed in Weaver's/Nack's book. It is correct there to hit and bring a checker down from the 13pt. Here Blue has made 3pt [argues for hitting], but the hit will cost him his 8pt. Also hit prevents White from using his 11pt builder. I don't like running into double shot when Blue has tactical advantage. I think I would go with 13/7 8/5* noting that blue has a double if White dances.
