For such a close decision you should probably do a full rollout before bending over backwards to concoct a theodicy. But in any case, we can start by observing that both 8/6 8/3 and 10/5 8/6 are more flexible than 10/3, and Magriel's criteria point towards bold play here; White is somewhat reluctant to break anchor to hit since you have a bunch of return shots and a killer board.
