I'm sure I'd just play 10/1 under any reasonable circumstances. I am I the only one who spent time considering 6/1, 5/1? I didn't talk myself into it, but it was close. Something like: I don't care that much about getting hit since the race is bad if the last checker gets out so getting hit just helps the timing. Making the 1 leaves both the 10 and 12 points to try to contain the checker on the 4 point and there are many shots to point on the 4 or cover the 5 and hit on the 4. The obvious downside it that you get gammoned a lot more, but it looks to me like white will just cash anyway if things go well, since it is hard for them to be too good when you have a strong board and an anchor. I guess what I wasn't fully seeing is how much harder it is to attack the checker on the 4-point after getting hit and spending half the next roll coming in. Chalk it up to QF induced craziness I suppose. Anyway, definitely a nice problem.
