The comments I made weren't intended as a justification of the bot move, but as factors to consider when analyzing the alternatives. I believe that the comments I made were accurate, rollout or no rollout. Whether the rollout puts the shot-leaving move in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place is not so interesting anyway to me; what's more interesting is that the plays seem to be close, and seeing why they are close is what we're after in an explanation, right?
