OK, let's deal with these:
3. Against slow play - penalty GP's for slow player for each not played game.
Problem - say you're guaranteed to get into the last 8 if you only lose two more point. You are heading to lose a single game. If you play at proper speed, you may lose one point plus get gammoned in the next; if you play slow you lose 1 plus 1 penalty. Incentive to play slow and concede a penalty.
4. According to collude with his opp to receive some kind of advantage. Do you want to give your money for your opp for free? Or what? And where is his advantage in this case? And your profit?
Again, the rewards of getting to the last 8. Two players about to come 9th and 10th can, say, contrive a result to come 8th and 11th. Their combined expected win is higher that way and they can agree to share that gain.
5. Rebuy is not coming in the finish results to achieve your place in the best 8, because all rebuy's GP's will be subtracted from finish result.
So what's the point of a rebuy?
6. AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR FANTASTIC COMMENT: "Backgammon is not like tennis, or 1990's snooker, or any other sport where a handful of individuals are so far above the rest they dominate every event." It is a huge mistake of normal players! They suppose that backgammon (as well as poker, scat, preferance and other intellectual games) is some kind of game of chance!
Well, it fundamentally is a game of BOTH skill AND chance. The more closely matched the players are, the more chance will take over. I typically play around PR of 8-10 and I know I can (and do) lose whole runs of money games in a row to donkeys at PR 30+. As for an 11 pointer, it's not "supposedly", the formula gives me about 25% wins against the best humans, and I do get around about that against GNU. OK, possibly not enough to become world champion :) but far more than your dismissive comment suggests...
