I think it is important to compare 52D-33 with 53D-33 and 54D-33 to appreciate the response. After 52D, your opponent only has 3 numbers which will make the four point (22 and 42). After 53D, eight numbers make it. You take the advanced anchor to prevent your opponent from making the point. 54D is similar.
