In Response To: Ballard/Grandell - Checker Play (Stick)

Moves: escaping 23/16 ; hit second 8/1* ; 13/9 8/5 ; 23/20 13/9.

If we hit loose we have direct 5s 23 14 62 44 66 33 total 20 as covering numbers which is not bad at all. Also we have better board 4:3 and already send cube so we have to win with checkers and out gammons count twice.

If we hit back white has open 5pt and with ace and deuce already open it would be easy to enter.

I like also 23/20 13/9 which is more consolidating move. Start moving our back checker, duplicate white's aces for enter and hit loose and give us escaping 3s,4s,5s,6s which is huge while we are 29 pips ahead in the race. 13/9 gives us two checkers six pips from 3pt which is great for attacking purpose or for blocking if white made anchor there with 32.

13/9 8/5 avoid 35 jocker from the bar but avoid advancing back checker and it is worse move IMO. You have to take chances when your opponent is on the bar.

Running all the way is not so efficient use of checkers I think. We just have to try more with this roll. Also 34 14 35 36 from the bar are great.

I am not sure but I try with 8/1*. Second choice 13/9 23/20 leaves 35 31 32 which is not bargain. If white hit us we still has good game.
