Tournament Format and Prize Sharing By Dr. Garal

Your premise is that backgammon would be improved if tournament conditions were changed to reduce the factor of luck so that the best players always win the big prizes in all tournaments.
(You say that the best 8 players in a tournament should always finish on top. Alternatively you say that 8 of the best 32 players in a tournament should always finish on top. Alternatively you say that there should be "very few place for any random results. Only between the best top players." I think you should make up your mind.)
My question is: why should we believe your premise? You need to demonstrate that your premise is correct, before we even get to considering whether your proposed changes would in fact ensure that "the best 8 players should be the best top players."
You claim you have received no "unemotional" critical responses here. I don't agree. But let me note that several of your other notions about what's best for backgammon ("fairness" in backgammon) have already received a critical response in the forum at DBgF and in the currently unavailable forum at Gammonlife.com.
Also, let's recall that in your article on Phil Simborg's website, you yourself criticized the 72% of the responders to Chicago Point Poll #27 who did not select the answer that "BG directors should strive to make their events as skilful as possible ... so the best players win more often." You write: "Only 1 of 3 recipients (28%) has understood how important for BG-community to have their experts and other good players in the top of the rating table."
They're wrong, and you're right? Please make your case, to those 72%, and to us.
