Thank you, David, and Stick as well, for the explanations (found, respectively, here and here) that advancing your anchor in the second and third positions below has to do with the opponent's threat to make his 4pt. And, thanks to Nack, for reminding me why the front side of 54D-33 is best used to make the 3pt, rather than the 5pt.
