Answers: 2. Against slow play:

WE need the statistic - it is obviousely. And the player loose his money - never mind: in gammon (because was unlucky) or because of slow play in penalty. I'd like to see such guys, who are ready to do that and how in reality it will be help them to achieve something extra.

4 According to collude. You write: "Again, the rewards of getting to the last 8. Two players about to come 9th and 10th can, say, contrive a result to come 8th and 11th. Their combined expected win is higher that way and they can agree to share that gain." Sorry, I have not understood what do you mean under "their combined expected win is higher..."? Please, with some example, what you suppose?

5. According to rebuy. Your question about the sense of rebuy immediately indicates, that you don't like play money games. Ask the players who likes: MONEY!!!!

6. And now to your fantastic remarks and follow comments.

There are NO any intellectual GAME without some kind of unfull information (like in bridge, scat or preferance) or random feauture of one playing element (like in backgammon) or both (like in poker). The problem is that the people are concentrate only on unfull information and more on random features and don't thing about SKILL in all of these games. Sure unfull information and especially random feature play a big role at this specific game, but... you have NO CHANCE agianst profi in all games ABOVE if you try to play against them for MONEY in some sequence of games. So, my point of view is very simple: I want eliminate the unexperienced players from TOP-experts and profis and give them the possibility to find the best one between themselves (it is the first step to next changes! :-)). I know that this format allow us to do that. So we should try to implement it.

And "last, but not least", dear Julia, I am not personally against your quality of play. My remark was only in connection with my proposal. Should you really find yourself between the best 8 in any tournament with this format - nobody can talk about your luck: it is impossible to achive this statue after 5 matches with 8 games in each match like money-game only with fantastic luck - you MUST be VERY GOOD in this GAME!!!

Thank you very much for your good remarks and comments! You have really a fine grasp to my ideas!
