In Response To: Recent touch-move occurrence in top-level chess (neilkaz)

The Czech touched 2 pieces carelessly. The Russian saw him touch the King first, but did not insist on it because it was sure an accident, not an intention. BTW both in chess and BG a Director should rule against a claim by the Russian and he wisely did not claim. The Czech reached a winning position, then offered a draw returning the "favor", because he would feel ashamed of such victory (after the opponent pardoned him). I think the Czech overplayed "gentlemanship". The Russian still did a kind of cool _ rey coup. A la guerre comme a la guerre :).

The lesson from chess is that rules and ethics oblige players to move AFTER THINKING. Former world champion Spasski used to keep his hands under his bottom, to keep from making impulsive moves.
