I think, in fact, they do win equally. Donald's defect means that if Nellie gets to 1-away she wins the match (once at 1-away either she wins a game before it gets to DMP or she wins it when it does, winning the match in both scenarios). On the other hand, if she never gets to 1-away she certainly can't win the match (no gammons, etc. after all). Effectively then, for her, it's a match to 10 not 11. The same is true for Donald since he's essentially credited with one win before it starts. It is true he doesn't blunder a game in every match, but he does in every match where it would make a difference.
