Chuck: I don't understand this. Why is reproducibility so important that it would pre-empt the use of an (hopefully) extremely fast pure RNG?

In order to have a RO reproducible you need to be able to seed the pseudo RNG. Of course a RO that would use that pure RNG will give as accurate of a result but will yield slightly different results each time it's ran.

Speed is not an issue for me, the time spent in the RNG is infinitesimal (less than 1e-6, it does not even appear in the data when i profile a RO)
