As usual, what, and more important, why?

All the usual indicators signal a bold play. Here that probably means a loose hit of some type. Since White's main asset is her prime, we'd ideally like to able to counterprime. Failing that, we'd like to attack.

6/5* is the boldest play, hitting the checker we most want to hit, but it looks too bold, sacrificing too much structure for too little gain. The other bold plays to look at would seem to be 8/2* 7/6 and 21/15 3/2*. In favor of 21/15 is that it gets a back checker going, which is very important here, since we have four checkers trapped behind a four-prime. Of course 3/2* breaks our 3pt and leaves two blots. In favor of 8/2* 7/6 is that it keeps a three-point board and uses the ace efficiently; however, it gives up the 8pt and does nothing to get our back checkers going.

If we don't hit then it seems that 21/15 7/6 is the natural quiet play, improving the position of two of our misplaced checkers.

OTB I think I would play 8/2* 7/6 but QF makes me think that some other play is right.
