Same thing. Luck: advantage or success, considered as the result of chance. Chance: a possibility or probability of anything happening.

I take Tobias to mean that in the end you win your share, so put luck out of your mind lest it ruin you and your game, since there's not a damned thing you can do about it. "Never blame the dice ... be aware that losing is part of the game ... don’t let it drag you down seriously or become superstitious because you had a strange sequence."
