No gammons

You can't win a gammon at 2a 1a with Jacoby (and Crawford)? Good! Why should you be able to win a gammon when, because of his superior results thus far in the match, it is of no value to your opponent?
So we are playing 5pt match, first game, you double and manage to win a gammon.
Now it's 4-0 for you and it's Crawford game. By your logic, now I must win 5 single games to overcome "his superior results thus far in the match"?
