BG Board Aboard Diverts Flight

It appears that the behavior of these people, rather than the backgammon game by itself, had more to do with why this flight was diverted. I hope this incident doesn't make people scared to fly with their board!
That incident Chuck mentioned involved an analog clock, and IIRC it was in 2002. It was quite ornate, with a lot of brass that probably triggered the metal detectors, and then the X-ray saw the mechanism with all its gears and dials...yeah, they had problems about it till they found someone who knew what a chess clock was. Fortunately I had checked my BG board, so I didn't have to explain that I wasn't bringing the clock to play chess. It didn't help either that the instruction manual for it was in German! (No, I can't read German...I brought the manual because the logical place to keep it is in the box with the clock.)
In more recent years, I have brought my Game Timer clock through several airports with no problems.
