Consider what you just stated and take a deeper look at the position. There's a huge gap between slightly TG, and a small pass in positions like this since as soon as White enters, he's in the game, and he may enter with a hit/dance and even have play for a G. So.... this can't be even slightly TG unless it is a BIG pass as well. Incidently, this isn't that gammonish vs two checkers on the mid point.
