1/ This double is for the match, the take point is 17%. On the next roll : if I cut into two groups: The race with 50% or so is nearly over so I give white just 2 or 3% in this variation. What about the hitting one ? 7 numbers leave a shot and white as a little more than 33% on average to hit so I give white 3 games in this variation (optimistic). That's a total of 4 games in the next couple of roll. around 11%. White can have another chance later so it's a close decision but I would be incline to drop.

2/ Reading Nack Ballard and Paul Weaver book, I know that duplication is a frequent theme in opening. making the anchor have the advantage of making a good defense, the checkers on the 6 white's point are somewhat out of play and the 4 are duplicated. B/21 24/21

3/ hard to play. Lot of candidates. - making the bar point : loosing connectivity - making and anchor : 24/22 and the only 6 I can see is 8/2* which gain a tempo. not that bad. no other 6 on this side of the board. On the other side. There is: - 24/18 23/21 almost all rolls are good for him (hit with 1 3 4 6, run with 5) - 23/16 2 and 4 to attack, just one checker under the gun there is a little duplication with the 4 since it can be used to make the bar. - 22/16 24/22 or 23/21. I definitely prefer 23/21 since it gives 4 and 2 everywhere.

So my final choice would be between 22/16 23/21 and 24/22 8/2*. I choose the anchor plan; That's a security for the entire game and the gain of the tempo could matter.
