At most normal match scores it is correct according to rollout to split with an opening 41 and 51. It is clear at certain scores though such as gammon go and 4 away 2 away that slotting is correct. So right there saying you 'never slot with an opening 41' should be out the window.

On top of that I'm sure you get into matches where you're significantly stronger than your opponent. In these cases I feel more and more that not slotting with these opening rolls is borderline horrendous.
