I was surprised to see a 1% error of the second best move

I'm never sure of what people mean when they say things like this. Do you mean emg .010? If so, that's not much at all and the difference I'd expect between 5/4 and 8/7 with the ace. If you look at how [66 55 44 33 65] play after both plays you will notice a difference making 5/4 the clear choice.
