Yes, you're right -- Winning more than 50% of one's 7 and of one's 5 point matches will cause one's rating to rise, regardless of what one's rating is (with the 11 point matches, that depends on how exactly Crane's formula accounts for BIBA rating ranking differences). And the converse. This seems quite unfair. For example, if I am an average player, I should win some percentage of my matches against number one ranked Julian Fetterlein. But since I should expect to win less than 50% of our 7 and 5 point matches, I can expect my rating to go down after a series of such matches. Even if I improve my play to "average-plus" my rating will still go down.
