Put it this way, when I am playing online, this is a straightforward position, and I wont burn too much brain on it. I dont really care that I whoppered it, but I did learn a lesson all the same, and am much less likely to make similar mistakes in the future.

Yes, it was online in this case, I was genuinely surprised at the size of the error.

Top of head plays typically are instinct or gut plays, in general terms, these are most often right (very subjective, very general), and I have to be honest and say, this one, I didnt see coming. My OTB play is more thoughtful, but I dont know that I would strip down the 6pt so quickly. Depends on how long my clock says I have to think about it.

Bearing off against a higher-than-the-acepoint anchor is an area I am sure that many of us could learn from. Apparently, I undervalue clearing rear points.
