In Response To: Linguistic Preference (mamabear)

When writing in backgammon articles, I use and prefer using the numeral when referring to a point, examples, the 5 point, the 24 point, (with no hyphenation) but for non-backgammon writings, you are supposed to spell out the numbers from 1 to 9 (this is what I was taught as a writer and editor) and then from number 10 and higher, use numerals, i.e., 52 or 2,052.

As for referring to the number of points primed, such as in mamabear's phrase, I think it is correct to use the hyphen, thus it should be:

"Make your 5 point, because that will give you a five-point prime."
