I defer to you since you have more books published than I do. However, I don't understand why "five-prime" would be hyphenated while "3 point" would not. They are both nouns.
It seems like "five-point prime" would be the pedantically correct version, since five-point is functioning as an adjective: we are taking about a prime with five points. But if "five point prime" is correct, I don't see how that shortens to "five-prime."
