The chance to hit some more blots is like a siren calling. I'm not sure what Blue's gammon price is here (close to money?), but it seems like he's getting it. After Blue plays 24/18, 9/3, 7/1(2), White can hit from the bar with 22, 23, and 25. On 21 White cannot hit, but he can clean up two blots. With 24 and 26, White enters, and lifts one blot. Here's the breakdown:
- 25 rolls: White dances. Blue hits safely outside with 2, 3 and 6 (30 shots).
- 5 rolls: White enters, and hits. Blue has 11, 12 and 16 to hit back (5 shots). Otherwise, he may face a nasty cube on White's turn.
- 2 rolls: White enters with 21, and makes his 9pt. Blue has 5s to hit outside (15 shots).
- 2 rolls: White enters with 24, and plays a blot into his 6pt. Blue has 2s and 5s to hit outside (23 shots).
- 2 rolls: White enters with 26, and plays a blot into his 6pt. Blue has 2s and 3s to hit outside (21 shots).
I have a slight preference for killing a checker on the 1pt over leaving a blot on the bar point.
My vote: 24/18, 9/3, 7/1(2)
