(1) Blue can take a solid but possibly temporary lead in prime and home board with 8/5(2) 6/3(2), or grab the advanced anchor against White's impending attack on the 5 point and make a home board point of his own with 6/3(2) 24/21(2), which is what I'd do.

(2) Midpoint vs. bar point, 120-132 pipcount with market losers and plenty of playable spares is enough for me to double. Easy take.

(3) I looked at 13/9 11/6, and at 11/2*. But neither play promises to fill in the 5 point, much less the 5 point and bar point. If White escapes now, or finds something useful to do elsewhere and escapes later, Blue has a bad 4-2 backgame. I don't want to play a 4-2 backgame, or a 23 point holding game. I'd force something to happen now in the outfield with 23/18 13/9.
