1. I don't think we should abandon our straggler by giving up our 18pt anchor. Nor does it seem to make sense to dump checkers behind White's anchor. That leaves 13/5(2) versus 13/9(4). 13/5(2) looks like the natural play and I don't see why 13/9(4) should be better, so I play 13/5(2).
2. White needs at least 33 pips to run off the gammon, which will typically take 4 or 5 rolls. If we rip two now, we'll have 12 checkers left. To win a gammon, either we have to be lucky enough to roll doublets twice in 4 rolls and have White take 5 rolls to bear her first checker, or we roll doublets once and bear off in 5 rolls while White is unlucky enough to fail to bear off until her 6th roll. Against that, ripping two leaves 4 immediate blotting rolls which White will hit about 1/3 of the time. Tough call but I'll try ripping two. 6/off(2).
3. Difficult. Can White take? White will get gammoned a lot here. Blue has no immediate disaster rolls (55 is probably the worst but even that doesn't leave a direct shot). White has chances based on Blue failing to escape the back checker quickly, or escaping it but getting hit as it tries to come around. White's winning chances don't look all that bad but I would drop because of the gammons. D/P.
