In Response To: OLM We 10/05/11 ROLLOUT (Bob Koca)

You don't understand why we aren't more likely to make an upcoming cube error when we have the ability to properly adjust to the skill level of our opponent and he does not?

As a side note in this particular position I don't expect any 'tough' cube decisions on our end if we play on. Here is what happens in this position. We roll usually bringing one or both checkers off the midpoint in hopes of continuing our blitz and then one of several things occurs:

  • Our opponent fans, we play on.
  • Our opponent enters with one checker it's almost always a clear cash. (the exceptions coming when he enters high on the 4pt with only one checker and our spares are readily poised to continue out the attack)
  • Our opponent enters with both checkers but non doublets - this is where I expect both silicon and humans to err greatly. Humans won't know when these are takes and will drop simply because we are playing on, silicon won't know it's real take point playing a weaker player and will take passes. Again, our decision is easy though.
  • Last of the main lines from this position are doublets rolled and we clearly don't cube.
