Wilcox
It is really a great pleasure hearing from you. I hope to see you back on the circuit again.
For those of you who don't know, before there were bots, there was Wilcox. He would laboriously roll out hundreds of positions by hand and build a database of reference positions that put him light years ahead of his foes. When I see a movie like the Wizard of Oz, I marvel at the dazzling special effects like the flying monkeys or the melting witch; I am far more impressed with those pioneering productions than what I see with the computer generated features of today because I can appreciate the ingenuity that went into making those classics before the advent of the computer. Wilcox was the closest thing to Extreme Gammon that existed at the time.
And now I have a confession to make. Many moons ago, Paul Weaver was staying with me for a few days and somehow it got stretched into a few months. I knew that he, Wilcox, and Herb Gurland were exchanging rollout results and that Paul had a book of the results. So rather than charging him rent for his extended stay, I "borrowed" his rollout book when he wasn't looking and took it to the copier. It brought me tons of pleasure not to mention profits. It was like having Snowie or Extreme when no one else had it. Hopefully, I won't be forced to do community service for my evil deed.
All my best to you and your family.
