In Response To: can't explain (the WHO or the Kinks?) (joe freedman)

American musicologist Robert Walser of Case Western Reserve University referred to You Really Got Me as "the track which invented heavy metal." Blue Cheer and Cream came chronologically after the Kinks' classic. I would put Louie Louie more in the genre of hard rock than heavy metal.
