Many choices = many opportunities to blunder

you're going to have to give up your outfield point or anchor next turn so why not do it now?
And the rest ... good question. The same thought occurred to me but I don't think it's nearly as useful here as it is, as an example, in weighing moves in the position type when we've a marginally useful midpoint to clear, a competitive race, and a desire to play efficiently. Here the 16 point has value for a turn; it's making some 4's play awkwardly instead of excellently. So I don't care for 16/10 16/11 or 16/5. 20/9 might be right, but if it is, not very much because it would have to go next turn anyway. For most numbers, playing from the 20 will not be blocked. When it is, playing from the 16 point might be right next turn anyway. I don't give much weight here to making points in order -- any 5 point board should often be useful.
