1. Blue has 27 shots at two blots, and a solid five-prime up front. Even if Blue misses, White will not have a trivial time cleaning up. White still has eight checkers to bear in, so there is some danger of losing a gammon. I think the double is clear and what is not so clear to me is whether White can take. Though Blue has a five-prime, it's only a four-point board, so White is a favorite to enter when hit. Blue does have nine misses and White's structure will make it somewhat difficult for Blue to escape all his back checkers. I'd take but am not confident.
2. White has only four checkers off and has gaps in her home board, so it would be a big pass if she were closed out. However, she's not closed out yet. Since Blue's checkers are still far back, I think she has enough chances of slipping by to take. Not sure though, so I'd double.
3. We have a significantly stronger board so we should give bold plays careful consideration. The three bold plays worth considering seem to be: 24/18 13/10, 24/21 13/7, and 13/10 13/7. Of these, I guess I prefer 24/18 13/10. Though 13/7 gains more when it works, I think it might be too bold here. Safer plays include 24/15 and 13/4, but don't seem to accomplish much. I play 24/18 13/10.
