After cube, non-cover, John would have a recube in some cases I think, but not all. Probably a recube if you are forced to leave a hittable blot. But that cube looks quite inefficient. You'd still be a favorite to win the game & match.

The way I see it, you'd win about 69-70% of the games cubeless (let's say 17 out of the 21 covers and about 8 out of 15 misses) and win quite some gammons, losing very few, and cover and dance is a big market loss. I'd cube it.

From what I have seen from John he is unlikely to make a cube error whatever you do (here and in the follow-up), so that should not affect the decision.
