OT - Poker Fail

Chips have been thrown in as a call, itīs a call, no matter what the player said what his intentions were.
No, that's not right. Freitez raised. I assume the tournament was using some version of TDA (Tournament Directors Association) Rule 35:
"Verbal Declarations / Acting in Turn. Players must act in turn. Verbal declarations in turn are binding. Chips placed in the pot in turn must stay in the pot.Rule 35 is intended to protect other players. You can't, for example, say "raise," get a reaction, and then change your action to "call."
But Frietez is misusing the rule to try to fool Yanayt into thinking that he really meant to say "call" and did not mean to raise -- holding the third nut hand (only a very unlikely pocket 66 or pocket KK beats beat him).
Frietez asks "how much?", counts out chips to call, then says "raise" and simultaneously puts in enough chips to call. Then comes the bullshit "sorry, call" and the bullshit "no speak English." Frietez' verbal "raise" is binding, and he knows that full well. The dealer is correct to require him to raise.
Then TD Thomas Kremser is called over. He correctly requires Freitez to make a minimum raise. But notice what he says -- as well as you can, it's not very clear on the video:
"I think this is exactly the same situation as we had already in this tournament, and it is exactly the same rule that we have announced." Then he turns to Yanayt and says (I think) "I shall share information with you, ok? ... [unintelligible]." Then he forces Freitez to raise, and reminds Yanayt that he has an option to call or not.
So the TD is apparently reluctant to impose a penalty on Freitez for a scummy angle shoot that isn't technically against the rules, but has no reluctance to inform Yanayt that Freitez is likely to be angle shooting, in exactly the same way that he had earlier in the tournament. Lee Jones thinks Kremser handled it well:
