1. With White so disconnected, I would have thought about cubing before the roll here, though I don't think I would have actually done so. This is a pretty good roll so we should be thinking about cubing next time. The "obvious" play is 20/16* 6/4(2) but it does give White some unpleasant return shots that will stave off the cube. We could try 20/16*(2) or even 20/18(2) 6/4(2) instead. But neither of these options seems that compelling so I'll just stick with 20/16* 6/4(2).
2. My first inclination is to run with 23/13, and then I guess 8/3(2) with the last two 5's. However, we're still not really ahead in the race, so another strategy is to build our board with 8/3(2) 6/1(2) and make it hard for White to come home safely. Leaving two checkers back keeps open the possibility of anchoring somewhere if White's position starts to improve. I'll try 8/3(2) 6/1(2).
3. This is a bit like a 33 blitz except both sides have improved their positions. Blue has escaped a checker and has 9 checkers in the zone, and has the bar point instead of the 8pt. White of course has her 5pt, which is a powerful defensive asset. Also, Blue trails 11a8a, which should make White lean towards dropping in gammonish positions. A 33 blitz tends to be less gammonish than a 55 blitz but the gammon danger here is still nothing to sneeze at. I'd pass here though I'm far from sure. D/P
