This is an extreme situation though for a pinch runner. If those two runs don't score there is no rest of the game (or series), it's over right then and there. Especially with two outs and the runners on the move on contact how would you have felt having a play at the plate with a slow runner if a double was hit instead of an easy tie ball game if you had pinch run? How often do you think you're losing that guy in the line up later? First, you have to tie it up but not win the game. Then after that you have to go probably 3 more innings without either team winning until he would get another at bat.
