'Bottom of the 10th, Cardinals trail by 2 runs again. Two men on with nobody out and they decide to bunt the men over. Is this right?'

With an average hitter up, a successful bunt would have lowered the Card's winning chances from ~31% to ~28%. And the bunt does not have to be successful, so your instincts are dead on-must be nice to be a maven at everything. With a pitcher up, the Card's winning chances probably drop to somewhere in the low to low-mid 20's. So it is clear that a successful bunt would increase the Card's chances significantly. I don't understand why Texas did not bring in a tougher pitcher to bunt on, since Jackson was the last batter Oliver would face regardless of the result and Oliver is easy to bunt on.
