In testing XG2, I looked at quite a few situations where this "bot effect" in this type of holding game occurs. There's less noise when the opp doesn't have a cube at a score like this, but still this occurs occasionally even in a money game. This has been an issue with all bots since they think that the differences between plays in the home board is small since shots are extremely unlikely to be hit within their frame of lookahead.

Fortunately, this type of evaluation, that looks like absolute nonsense to humans doesn't happen all that often.
