1. I think we have to fill in the 5pt here despite the double shot. White has to give up an anchor to hit with a 6. It's true that White has a four-opint board but she has only 8 checkers up front so it should not be too disastrous to get hit. The gap on the 5pt is going to cause a lot of trouble later if we don't fill it in now.
2. The threat to make our bar point is very strong so I double for sure. Can White take? Her stacks make it difficult to prime, but she has no fatal weaknesses yet and Blue might not make the bar point. D/T.
3. White has ten checkers in the zone and has completely escaped one rear checker. That's bad news. Blue has half an anchor in White's home board but it's on a relatively exposed point. Blue has an outfield blot, but White's immediate hitting rolls are duplicated; still, I think the blot is more of a liability than an asset. Blue's main compensation is his made 4pt. Also White's spares are both stacked up on the 6pt. Possibly this is enough for a close take but I would let this one go. D/P.
