In moving Blue's 23pt blot to the 22pt, you have created the possibility of anchoring with 62. Typically, 52S-xxx-62Z (Z being 24/22 13/7) is the best play.
52S-42P-62
If we ignore the Z "spoiler," we can still compare S (Split, 22/16 13/11) and R (Run, 22/14). I would guess that S is a little better than R, though it should be close (between those two) in any case.
Having already played 13/8 causes (an additional) 13/11 to be a much less desirable development, though probably desirable nonetheless even with the other blot exposed in the outfield. Blue has already hurdled White's 8pt; the considerations of having run to the 18pt vs 16pt (even without the non-trivial 4-duplication present in 51S-42P-62R that you mentioned) are generally more significant than those of being on the 16pt vs 14pt.
Having gotten his lead back checker off the 18pt (where he is exposed to both 6s and 1s), Blue is less likely to be hit, which means that he will be covering his 11pt blot or making a better point on the next roll substantially more often.
