Boring Bearoff Position

4/0(2) 6/2 and then whether 5/1 is better than 6/2 for the last 4.

5/1 looks natural, slotting an empty point but we gain only if we roll an odd number of 1's, and we're able to win from behind even when rolling 1's.

It may be more important to look at the resulting position on the high points. 5/1 leaves us with 4 checkers on the 6 point and only 2 on the 5 point. This means that we risk emptying the 5 point prematurely and will have to move 6/1 with later 5s. Especially on 55 we will have to move in two to the ace pont right away. This might hurt us more, because we need to roll high to succeed here, and we should take care that our high numbers play well.

6/2 leaves us better balanced on the high points and is my play.
